Introductory Course 5 lessons over 5 weeks

This course will introduce you to the basics of pole including dance moves, transitions, floor work and spins. You will also do a short routine incorporating all the moves  you have learnt.

The aim of this course is to build confidence on and around the pole. We all had to start at the beginning and can remember what it was like. At the end of the course you can choose to move on to classes or come back for a refresher. This course is normally done in a group class of about 8 – 12 people or if you like you can get some friends together and do a private course.

The course is $100 for the full 5 weeks.

These classes are for VAD students to broaden their skills and cross train with exercises that are not pole work. These workshops vary between one and four lesson blocks. The workshops we will be offering are as follows,

Double pole – for Intermediate upwards, teaching syncronised pole separate and same poles and base/flyer moves.

Burlesque – learning how to walk and move, utilising props such as fans, chairs and feather boas.

Trapeze – for Intermediate upwards, learning another aerial art like the static trapeze greatly improves skills with other apparatus.

Silks – for Intermediate upwards, another aerial art to compliment the training done on the pole.

Exotic Dance – this workshop is for those who wish to learn dance skills to work with pole for use at home or professionally.

Come and learn all the tricks and moves of pole dance. At VAD , we have levels syllabus which we train to from Beginner, Intermediate 1 & 2, Advance and Pro. If you are new to pole, we recommend you take our Beginner course first. Everyone starts with an evaluation  to let us know what you can do and which level to work to, then you have set moves to learn before levelling up.You learn these moves at your own time and pace under the watchful eyes of our instructors.

Open sessions during the week are open to anyone. This is a time where you can just play on the poles or train some more. Just text 027 7470915, or e-mail to find out more.

Beginner level

This recaps the course and you move on to learning more demanding spins, transitions, dance and floor moves. Also you will be introduced to climbs and work on the pole including inverting, laybacks and freestyle work. When you have all the moves ticked off the syllabus, you are welcome to sit our in-house exam which is where you make up a routine to a song of your choice using the moves you have learnt.

Intermediate 1 & 2

Intermediate 1 moves on to the fun stuff : moves up the pole. Learn to do moves like the scorpio, cupids and iguana’s as well as new mounts and dismounts. This teaches you the basic aerial positions and holds as well the important knee grip.

Intermediate 2 starts getting slightly harder with body grips, handsprings, off the pole holds and learning to string moves together into combos.

Advanced concentrates on strength holds, flexibility, drops and aerial mounts. This is a level where execution and flexibility really start to get worked on and refined.

This is where you can do moves that are performed at international competition level and make up moves and combos that are unique.

Each syllabus has exams at the end. These are done about twice a year. The requirements are up on our facebook page “Vertical Aerial Dance Studio
